    UQ is slipping away

    Hei,

My 3/4 underquilt is too often slipping away from under me.

I have set one Dutch's Quilt Hooks above shoulder on the opening side of my hammock but the rest slips away. (Black Bird)

Should I add more hooks or what?

I would try with one on either at the diagonal. If it really is a hassle, one on each corner of the UQ won't hurt. I have had a few issues keeping my 3/4 under me some nights!

I have almost the same setup as you. My uq is full length.

I have had the uq slipping away from the left shoulder side, but found a plastic Dutch hook to help a long way. I got a pair of titanium too but haven't mounted them yet.

My solution was to thighten the shock cord on the sides, especially on the left side. And to mount the plastic Hook on the bb zipper at head hight. This have helped a lot.

I'm still not completely happy with my hammock tuning, so before fall I'll mount two uq hooks on the left shoulder side and one on the right foot side.

So: try tightening the shock cord on the sides, and maybe adjust the dutch hook position.

    Good luck

Make sure your quilt suspension line is going over the top of the footbox.

Also make sure that you underquilt suspension is tight enough that it lifts the hammock when it is unoccupied.

I had the same issue until I tightened my UQ suspension by a lot more than I though I needed to and now I have no issues of it coming off my shoulders anymore.
