Not a Brit but I always bring my supercat stove and small kettle for hot tea, Even on day hikes. Looking forward to having tea in my hammock! Ok, not tea in the hammock, but the tea in me and me in the hammock!

Back on the thread topic, this thread has convinced me to keep my tarp separate from my hammock. Had pondered something similar but am trying to KISS

    Re. the tarp:
I hang it separately, thank you, so I can get a little more space by hanging it higher up for those long, steady, no-wind, soak everything days, but hang it down close and low when it's blowing up a storm.
    Re. the coffee:
Pot starts when the site is chosen, before the tarp is hung. First cup is made after the tarp is hung and sipped while hanging the hammock. Then with the hammock hung and arranged for lounging mode, the second cup is made and reinforced with a wee bit of Irish.

Now you're talking! I suppose I could bust out the Lapsang Souchong and some Laphroaig next trip. Together they make a killer toddy.
