Have had my HH Expedition asym for some time now, joined HF last year sometime and have been reading off and on since; considering a bit of DIY hammock making for my family. I have two young daughters (both who love laying in the HH with me) and a wife who has recently become interested in hammocks. I can't really afford to buy 3 more hammocks + bug nets + TQ/BQ, and they're not as "serious" about it as I am (yet). Heck, I haven't been able to afford a proper BQ/TQ setup for mine, yet.
I've been using an old "American Camper" red fleece bag under me (but inside the hammock) and a thick Coleman Max sleeping bag. Finding the Coleman a bit too bulky and irritating to maneuver in/out of inside the hammock, I recently tried using a down blanket we had in the house as a TQ, and kept the fleece double-layered underneath me. Got down to about 50F overnight and I was comfortable as could be.
Thanks for reading, and big thanks to Shug for his entirely entertaining videos. I learned a lot from those, as I'm sure many others did.
