    End caps for bridge hammock

So I'm ready to make end caps for my bridge hammock, and I'm planning on using grizz's rectangle/dart technique. I'm wondering how do you determine the height of the rectangle? I've made some different ones out of paper first, but I was wondering if there was a formula or something that I'm missing? Thanks!

The low tech method of determining the height of the end cap would be to setup the hammock, lay in it, and have someone measure the maximum depth from the spreader bar to the hammock body.

I am going to be a little more low tech. I am going for the JRB end cap design and I am going to pin my end caps in place on the hammock body with someone in the hammock.

    Cheers

I got someone to lay in the hammock and shaped up the edges of the end cap with piece of soft wire. I traced the edge of half of the shape onto the cloth, made a fold and cut both layers adding a one inch seam allowance.

To avoid having a seam on the inside of the hammock, I sewed the cut edges to the outside of the hammock then sewed over a one inch strip of gros grain to hide the exposed seam.
