Exactly. I was wondering if they would do any good on the ridgeline.

IMO no. You want to get the line tight and that shock stuff wouldn't do well on the sides unless you were using some big honken' tube. I find it isn't necessary at all on cuben, sil-nylon is where side self tensioners are best use.

I switched my tarp from Dutch flies to this Dutch hook setup and like it better. It's easier for me to make a tighter ridgeline and therefore a faster setup. This doesn't take as much line for the gram wienees like me. Thanks so much!

I switched to this method a couple of hangs ago, and I am really pleased with how fast it sets up and adjusts. It is simple and elegant (elegant is my word of the day, so I had to slip it in somehow )

I just set one up this was as well ..after seeing Gredemeer's at Sgt' Rocks hang .. I really like it .. so now I'm torn between the Dutch's Stingerz setup I used at the hang and this one .. a "V" is easier with the Stingerz .. Gredemeer's setup shaves at least 8 grams .. you need more line with Stingerz so a few more grams shaved there .. both are great, simple and gives rapid adjustment ..

For my tarp/poncho the Stingerz work best because I can easily detach them from my tie-out points .. on dedicated tarps this is about the lightest and easiest there is .. either way I'm still flying Dutch .. HYOH
