Sgt. Rock asked if I had an illustration showing this simple method. I didn't, so we made one up. There are lots of ways to use the Dutch Hook and this version is very simple. I have more instructions on my blog post, but here is the artwork.

Hey this is exactly how I do mine. Cool! Awesome illustration!

I got the idea from Gredemeer at the ultralight hang. I love it.
Great illustration of a simple, solid set-up. Great work, Derek! Thanks again. Right now I've got a single ridgeline, but I may have to give this a try.

I am doing the Dutch hook around the tree,,,and at the tarp,,larks tie a Dutch tarp flyz from the tarp to hook the single line to..very simple and sweet to tighten the tarp as well as move it from side to side to adjust and get over the hammock. Very quick and easy. Prussics on my tie downs of the tarp as well,,love this setup,,its a combination of the 2 videos that Ripwaverly had in previous posts. Very great illistration above!

I ordered one of the first sets of Dutch hooks because I saw this setup in my mind as soon as I got a look at them. I've been using it ever since and cannot imagine ever switching to something else. I use a continuous ridgeline all the way across the tarp.

Hmm, I've never heard of positioning the tarp line above the hammock line. I always put mine below.

I just switched to this method a few weeks back (using a CRL for over 3yrs) and I have to say that I quite like it! I find that its just as easy to center the tarp as a CRL, and it's lighter (loss of the line that would normally be either over or under the tarp).
Very nice illustration Dejoha.

I use the Dutch Hooks with my tarp ridge line. They are alot stronger than they look.
