Bring lots of Gatorade packets. Fill up at every water stop and chig any water before I fill up. Carry 1L of water per mile hiked and did I mention drink lots of water. Eat electrolytes jelly beans. Eat salty food to replenish the body. Go to sleep after sundown and wake up well before sunrise to hike. Eat a big breakfast so I can eat a later lunch in the heat of the day. I love camping all year roumd I try not to let temps stop me.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

If you are lucky enough to have plenty of trees invert the pitch of your tarp (ridge lower than sides) it will act as a wind scoop. Make sure one side of line is lower than the other to shed water. Works well in N.C. 100 and 100 humidity.

I don't know what it's like to hammock in the humidity, but here in AZ, we just pray for shade, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Since it's so dry out, just by keeping shirts wet and a wet bandanna around your neck, you can drop your temp by 15 degrees, so 100 becomes a slightly tolerable 85.
Other than that, my idea of camping in the summer heat is to head out to the movies. Or just drive to higher elevations where we can get relief from the heat.

I strive to camp near water, take a quick dip before going to be and go to bed a little wet/damp. The evaporating water will cool you and you'll be saw'n logs before you know it.
    Good luck,

I was starting to think I was the only one! More like Sept-May though for me depending on the location.
