I am a total noob when it comes to camping in a hammock. I am going on a canoe trip at the end of the month with some friends. And one guy sleeps in a hammock he has put together himself.
He gave me a hammock but I have to get the rope, bug net and all the goodies to make it complete. So I am going to be reading in this forum like crazy and watching some of shugemries YouTube videos.

You have come to the right place to learn about hammocks. I have learned so much from this forum.
I make a trip to Red River Gorge each year to hang with a buddy of mine from KY.
Ya I can tell I have come to the right place but there is so much information it is almost overwhelming. Lol not sure where to start

They are an excellent starting point as well as the forum to get you on the right track.
You are pretty lucky to be geting started in summer as the gear needed is a little less than a cooler weather trip.
