Skeeter Bites on Elbows using BMBH?

Anybody have issues with mosquitoes biting through the fabric of a BMBH? I got back from my bike ride in New York and realized that the bulk of my bites were on my elbows right where they make contact with the sides of the BMBH hammock. Any solutions to this?

Permethrin is what you need, you can find it in your nearest Walmart, or you can get from Sawyer at Amazon.com. You simply treat your BMBH according to the instructions, let it dry and watch the mosquitos drop in mid-air when they get near the hammock.

Yep, what they said, that's what I do. I guess you have the BMBH with a pad pocket? If so, that double layer protects your back, but in mine my elbows contact the hammock above the pad pocket. Or, sometimes if I m on my side I lean back into the hammock and my back will be in contact with that small area. So I often treat at least that area, unless I have my UQ which goes above the hammock edge. But treated long sleeve clothing takes care of it also.

I picked up a couple of spray bottles of Permethrin (sawyers brand) today. I will give that a try next week. Can't do it this week because of weather here in Northern Virginia (rain tomorrow).

I also have on order one of JRB's DriDucks Ponchos with modification to fit it as a weather shield under the hammock. That alone will probably fix the problem but I do want to see what the bug spray will do.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
