    Beatin the heat basement hangin!

So it's too hot to hang outside. I have a spot in the cool basement. I just moved my foot end to the left for a better view. Let's see some shots of your basement hang.

I wish I had a basement. Miss those basements down here in the south.

I've got a basement, the problem is it's also my shop. Usually, it's filled with cabinets being built or waiting for delivery.

Great idea though for you guys who can.

I hang in my basement as well. I have 3 eye-bolts in the walls so I can hang 2 hammocks. My kids and I have been sleeping down there quite a bit since it's been so warm here lately. It's a nice cool 65* down there even when the upstairs is 75*.

In south central WI we are going on 6 weeks without rain and 3 weeks of 90* + day time temps. For a week now, day time temps have hovered around 100*. Brutal. Around here this is very unusual for this time of year. Anyway, the SO and I moved into the basement last Sunday, set up the hammocks, and plan on staying down here until this weather subsides.

I just made the suggestion of haning in the basement, on a site for people with heart conditions. I know many of them are having serious problems with the heat and lack of power to run their A/C unit.

Thank you for reminding me about that trick. When my kids were little we used the basement to stay cool, we pretended we were on a safari, lots of giggles.
