Hello all! First time poster from Tennessee. I'm wanting to get into hammock camping and came across this site a few months back. Lots of info here. Almost too much for my tiny brain to take in.

"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn." — John Muir
Welcome to the forum from the Memphis, TN. Too much info here to consume in a short time. Treat this site like a marathon and pace yourself. One year from now you'll be a pro. By the way, I'll save you some time and point you to Shug now. You'll want to start off by watching his informational hammock videos. Enjoy the adventure.
Thanks all. I'll be sure to check out the videos. Informative forums are awesome.
Welcome from Knoxville. If at all possible get to a group hang. You'll meet lots of other hangers and see many different setups. Most folks are very willing to let you try different hammocks, so you can experience the difference for yourself. There's no one "best" way to hang.
There is a group hang next weekend in Pisgah NF in Western NC. And I think there's one not too far out in Middle TN. Just search the Trip planning forum and you'll see where things are happening.
Welcome from Florida. You have plenty of fellow hangers there in Tennessee
