    Hello from south FL.

Just saying hello from FL. I build dual purpose gear for Special Ops personnel like myself. Currently working on a Bivy bag / hammock / shelter basicly a Large Jungle Hammock, 5'x9'x5' tall with the bug net. Also can be used as a Bivy Bag. Seeking Fabric options and thoughts?

That's gonna be kind of a tough order. A hammock bottom and bivy sack are almost polar opposites in terms of desired fabric properties. One needs to be waterproof and the other will be miserable if waterproof except in certain conditions. Maybe some of the newer WB fabrics (eVent, etc)??

That would be an interesting piece of gear but as zukiguy mentioned, you need to figure out the waterproofing aspect. Maybe you could do a tarp/bivybag combo plus a separate hammock/shelter item.
