    What was your first hammock?

I'm still relatively new to hanging, but I'm curious what everyone's first hammocks were? I keep thinking, if only I knew then what I know now, I would've went with the WBBB. I am one of those who saw ENO's in the store and picked one up. I'm also working on a DIY tablecloth. Just curious if others started with something cheap or popular like I did.

A tent rain fly was my first hammock . . .
on a MC trip to Haida Gwaii
it was late at night and no time to set up a tent and no good ground
tied both ends to a couple of trees. and . . .

I had an old net hammock while in the Boy Scouts years ago.

In just the past couple of months I've acquired an eno Doublenest, WBBB 1.1DL, and a Dangerbird 60.

Grand trunk ultra light... $20 is one heckuva investment...
Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...

I guess technically, mine was a hand sewn one that I bought in the Honduras. Still have it, just never hung in it too much.

A cloth contraption from big lots that probably should have convinced me that hammock camping didn't work. Quickly, I moved up to an ENO DN, JRB bridge, and the flagship of my fleet the WBBB DL.

Mine was an ENO. Now I have a Grand Trunk Single. To be honest I love the material ENO uses more than Grand Trunk. It breathes a lot better during hot weather. I'm sure I will enjoy the Grand Trunk more in the cooler weather. Not sure about it thought. I may end up getting a Grand Trunk Double. I still have to get my lay right in the single. Since I'm 5'1 I figured it would work fine for me, but I'm still having a little bit of trouble finding that sweet spot.

Years ago, (25) I had a net style hammock in my bedroom... it was awesome on hot nights.

Father's day 2009, my kids bought me a Byer of Maine parachute hammock that went on our weekend backpacking trip.

Everybody took turns hanging, resting, napping, and reading in the hammock. Turns out my buddy Joe snores like a freight train... and so do I. in the interest of a good night's sleep, I crawled into the hammock and froze my butt off.

Next week, I found HF... been down hill ever since..
