    My Mambajamba tarp and Mist

I need help with this. I took out my brand new Warbonnet BB 1.7 and my new Mambajamba tarp out for the first time on a camping trip this past weekend. While there was little rain a beautiful mist did occurred very early in the morning. When i was ready to return to my hammock to sleep in the early morning my Hammock was slightly damp but my Tarp was completely soaked inside and out. How could this be. Can Mist be the culprit. How do i fix this problem.

Never had this problem myself but mist is just moisture suspended in the air so it would logically make anything it touches damp. If your rig is surrounded by mist then I can understand it soaking the underside of your tarp and your hammock.

Mist will sink to the lowest ground and settle there if there's no wind. If you're able to camp on higher ground you might reduce the chances of it happening again.

I tend to pitch the sides a little steeper if I think there will be heavy mist (so any runoff slides right down). Otherwise I porch it to air out. Easy dealt with using a absorbent towel and a few moments to wipe it all down. If your hammock is having an issue - might be best to get to higher ground and keep the tarp open enough to allow for airflow.

I lived in Monterey, CA, for 18 months and this happened quite a bit to me. Heavy fog rolls through and wets everything, including the undersides of tarps. Not that big a deal if you're careful, but if it starts raining after you get in the hammocks, it'll knock the water off the tarp and onto your hammock.

A hammock sock can keep the rolling fog and mist off your quilts while you're out and about, but you'll still have to deal with moisture management when you get back in. If it's 100% humidity out, you're just gonna be damp!
