Great little lights. Will not survive the washing machine.

    +1 on the Dutch light

+1 on the Nite Ize Spotlit

I also use a Snow Peak SnowMiner headlamp, it convert into a hanging lantern in camp.

Come to think of it, I have so much light I can turn my hammock into a Christmas tree

+1 on the ridgeline lite sold by Dutch and my headlamp on the ridgeline. I've seen mods where you can put a piece of plastic bag over the lite with rubberbands to make it a softer light.

I like the lantern that the Jack's are selling. They put off enough light to see what is going on around me and it's not directional so I don't have the glare issues on my phone when I read or play cribbage at night.

I love the ENO lights I got for Christmas! Not so much when I'm in the hammock but when I'm not. It's hard to find a hammock in total darkness after you been hanging around a campfire. String up those leds and just leave em on while you're gone. You'll never stumble around in the dark looking for your hammock again. A set of AAs last many nights..
Tonight I'm howlin' at a foreign moon, might as well be a junkie's spoon.

I usually use a headlamp, but often tie a AA or AAA Maglight to the tarp ridge line with a prussic. They have a keyring hole in the base that works fine. That lets me have a "permanent" light in the sleeping area, and I keep my headlamp next to me to grab and go as needed.

I have used a glo-toob FX in red ( i used to dive and had this light from that old life) It works well and is nearly indestructible. I have thought about getting one of the lithium glo-toobs but haven't seen the need. I used to have a krill light as well but it just didn't give enough light off (but it was kinda cool).

I use the head lamp, but I thought this was worth telling.

I like to take a bunch of glow sticks with me, crack um' and hang them on trees to show the path from, say the campfire or potty spot. It makes things easy for the little ones, and well even for my self if I get to messed up LOL the girls love it for going to the restroom at night. Plus I think it entertains the creatures, maybe even make them think some crazy woods magic is happening

    Yahbut---

How do you change the batteries? I used on for a while and really liked it, but can't figure that out.

Right now I'm using these. Nifty in that they can clip to a pack strap, pocket, brim of a hat, or ridgeline. The light articulates and an be directed where you want it. I lip one to the ridge line and the lay it on my chest to use as a reading light.

    Battery change is easy, too.
