There is just so much info about this, I'm a little flustered honestly.

What does one do, to attend this?

It looks like a pot luck type deal, bring food, others bring food as well and everyone shares that...

The location, and wood are paid for from last years proceeds,

So, do I just show up?

    Is it really that simple?

    It's that simple.
Show up, be self-contained as possible, and be ready to enjoy some great people and great food.
If you have something to share, please do.

At this point there is enough food planned to feed everyone on Friday and Saturday Evening for sure.

A total of 40lbs of pork (I'll bring buns) plus a turkey on Friday evening.

Saturday evening is our tradtional Seafood Bash consisting of a Low Country Shrimp Boil and Chicken and Sausage Gumbo.

    Look forward to meeting you.

Exactly, that way everything else is "gravy".
Keep in mind all this does cost significant time, effort & money. Help where you can, if you can. Most of all enjoy yourself and share the hammock camping with other like-minded people.
    That's what I do...

I'm new to the site but was invited right off the bat by several members. I was so impressed by the community that I mentioned it to a couple guys I hang with locally. I guess my excitement was contagious because so far there are 3 of us coming now. Of course we have no intentions of devouring your food and depleting your resources but we are excited to see everyone's gear. We're looking forward to seeing what everyone uses and learning some tips from seasoned vets. One guys was getting ready to get a new hammock but is going to wait until he's seen what everyone uses. Admittedly, there is a lot of information and I can't exactly keep up but I've got directions, I guess the rest I can figure out when I get there.

    See you guys soon!

Yeah, that was my invite as well. I posted about getting a starter hammock, and got invites right off the bat
