    I use my tree huggers as hand loops in much the same way. I hook the tree straps to my shoulder straps using soft shackles and they are the perfect length to rest my hands on. Dual use too.

    I didn't know this had a name... I thought i was the only one that this happened to... Shows what i know... I ha e always just reached up and grabbed my shoulder straps and kind of bench pressed the strap some which takes the weight of my pack and onto my arms... Probably wouldn't have to do this if I had a decent pack but with no waist belt I need some way to change the packs weight distribution...
