A look at GT mozzy netting

Here are a few photos of pitched Grand Trunk Duo hammock with Grand Trunk mozzy netting. I haven't seen many photos of mozzy netting on line so in case you we're curious...

Wow - that has some coverage. How are you liking it?

it's not 'UL' but it will go great for kayak camping.

The netting stays out of the way, unless you spread your legs too much and part of your leg touches the netting - in that case a skeeter can land on the netting and suck your blood with delight.

What I find somewhat interesting is the possibility to reverse sleeping from hammock to the ground. The width of the floor is about right for a Ridgerest and the length will accomodate a 6 foot tall person.

My Kelty 12/12 tarp clips to the ends of the loops almost perfectly stretched. I use carabiners for that.

The ridgeline above the netting is Sea to Summit clothesline which also seems to be just about perfect length to clip a ridge line to the hammock.

I have one that I'm using as the basis for a Taj Ma Hammok for the woman in my life. I've found that if you pitch the net at an angle to the centerline of the hammock, in the same direction as you sleep you can minimize the chances of your body touching the net. The desing would have been better if they put the end openings in opposite corners rather than on the centerline.

I've also got it rigged so that the net clips to the tarp with a biner, eliminating the need for straps or ropes to hang the netting itself.

When she's not using it, I'll be taking it when Scout The Wonder Dog takes me along on one of his adventures for him to sleep in.

I have now used the netting zipper about 20 times and unfortunately the plastic zipper came apart. I was able to put the zipper back together and as long as I am aware of this and don't unzip all the way to the end all will be fine. Still it is a little disappointing. :-(
