Am looking at possibly getting a explorer. But would like to see some pictures with the upgraded hex tarp. Looking to see if they can be used to button down the hatches in hard rain and wind. Or should I just consider something like the wb super fly,or mambajamba

It doesn't really have anything to "batten down". However, if you use a GI poncho, you can repurpose it as an improv Grizz Beak on one end when you get to camp. I did a video on how I do that. Here it is:



That tarp has kept me dry in everything from "morning dew" to "Nairobi monsoon season" in terms of precipitation. I recommend it if you're not on a weight budget (that is, you don't mind that it's pretty heavy).
