The Typhoon Rainfly is available in 30D Sylnylon or 70D polyester.

For Explorer Ultralite, Deep Jungle XL, Survivor. The Typhoon is a modified shock corded, catenary cut, asymmetrical “hex” fly with “blast panels" attachable to each end of the fly to create a totally enclosed space that could handle almost anything. I imagined this would be used for serious expeditions to remote areas where survival is the name of the game.

There's a couple good threads kicking around from when they first came out that have some good pictures. The tarps are a bit on the small side (110"/120" ridgelines compared to 144" on the Hex fly) but when they're buttoned up they enclose the hammock very well.

I am looking at a hex rainfly for the space and sending to 2QZQ to add doors for the protection/winter camping.

Here is a review on the Monsoon. Same tarp, 5" narrower.

    http://www.backpackgeartest.org/revi...en%20M%20Kidd/

I like it, but I get a lot more coverage with my spinn BMJ with sil doors with less of a weight penalty. Yet, I paid less than half for the Monsoon...
Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.

    TOTALLY recommend this!!!

That's the route I've gone. I went a bit further, and had them add velcro to the edges of the doors so that I can completely seal the tarp up in bad conditions. I've also added pole pockets, but haven't yet got poles ordered to put in there...really looking forward to testing this out more in depth this winter.
