It's pretty nice to have someone next to you to push off of for a nice rocking effect, but I'm afraid I'm going to miss being in the bigger hammock!
Brought the wife and 2 girls (6 and 7) on a three day backpacking trip in 100 degree weather. Hiking in nealy 3 miles on their first outing in the piney woods. That was two weeks ago, now they all keep asking me when are we going back! We all loved it, so I'm thinking you may want to purchase a new hammock soon lol.

My family all hangs. Wife and 3 boys; 14, 12, and 7. With my wife it is pretty easy she is a cold sleeper so she gets my last season gear. Shoulder seasons she gets the winter while I take the 3 season stuff. And so on. She doesn't do winter camping yet so I don't have to worry about that. I agree everyone else though. You usually have a hiking partner because of similar schedules. It is a lot easier planning that way.

I'm pretty excited that she is hanging. She is not a "camper". She has never slept in a tent (and said she never will) but she seems to be warming up to the idea that sleeping off the ground is a much better option. We are planning our first overnight (in the backyard) this week. It should be fun. I'll keep you posted.

Its good. I always tell my wife the new piece of gear I got was for her hammock ( good thing she is not into pink camping gear ). Of course I also time it so the new gear comes around her B' day or XMas. I think she suspects but doesn't say anything.

Told her a few weeks ago that she had been invited to a group hang and she asked when and where so she can get the weekend off.

Well...we did an overnight on Sunday. it went well. Here's a pic of how I set us up. She made it until about 5am, then nature called and she stayed in the house the rest of the morning. This was her first time sleeping outside, so I think I major step has been made. Good Times!

Wow, that is a major step. Cool Mine is pretty portable, thankfully, both with a backpack and with her paddleboard for overnights, as long as I carry her stuff in my canoe while paddling. She's not into hammock though, would have to figure out the dog if she were while packing.

Congrats! Good for you. I wish my wife would also join me to do the things I want to do. It would decrease the disagreements we get into. She is maybe coming around. Did on overnight kayak trip. She had mixed feelings about the hammock. Still likes a tent. I thought that went well. Don't think she will join me in any backpacking but I keep hoping one day.
