Rock and WV have made hammocks out of cuben and testing them with various results with cuben not breathable material that they are using. Keep the forum informed as to your tests and results as everybody is interested in lighter materials to lighten the load if it is even workable. Good luck on M 50.
I will certainly keep everyone informed! Thanks for the luck. Have Sgt. Rock and WV commented on the comfort of cuben?

    First attempt 1.1 nylon

Welp tried my hand today. I received 10 ft of 1.1 nylon, 7/64 amsteel, and webbing. First my successes. I successfully spliced amsteel for the first time using a loop turner. the loop turner was a little thick but it worked with some effort. I successfully tied my first marlin spike hitch. I successfully whipped my first hammock! I went with the W method. it did make the sides not floppy but i made the center too tight. On my second hang my 1.1 nylon ripped just below the whipping along the center where there was the most pressure. Next time I'm going to just use a curve to tighten the sides but leave the center. I'm ordering M90T next week.

I have a question. Why momentum? It seem pretty expensive to me. Can't you get ripstop nylon or polyester taffeta for significantly cheaper?

Momentum 90 MR and even the T,,very light,,more softer feeling I get out of it,,very much so,,,and very very comfy. 10' hammock will come in at under 6 oz before rigging, and with the right rigging under 16ozs total or less.
