I did this as an "exploit" - to see what it's like if you have to rely on ropes. I set it up just high enough to make it almost impossible to get in without ascender stuff and climbing belt.
Three days later I disassembled everything.
Basically I'm about to do the same as Refreshing - but in summer
At the moment I'm trying to get all the necessary stuff together and I'm practicing all the skills that are needed to be safe and comfy up there...
Never assume malice when stupidity will suffice.
On a canoe trip a few weeks ago. Found a fallen tree with two large branches hanging over the water. Wish I could've got a pic from the opposite bank!
My wife and I hang'n on the AT in the Grayson Highlands, Southwest VA
