    Hike'n and Hang'n near ATL

Hello all! I'm looking to head out Saturday for a short hike and hang. I'd like something close to Atlanta, prefer north side, and somewhat primitive. I was checking out red top, but reserving a spot and rv's aren't my thing. Any ideas are most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Come to the group hang at Raven Cliffs Fall! Hiking, primitive camping and lots of fellow hangers.

I was trying to work that out, but alas, it fell through. It's a bit too far for my unreliable work truck.

I'm thinking on heading out to the Pine Mountain Trail Saturday. Probably 45 minutes south of ATL, but has a lot of opportunities for short hikes with back-country campsites.

Go to the thread for the hang in the trip planning forum and see if you can hitch a ride. There are others coming from down around the ATL.
