Always good to get some input Mule, very difficult to get a consensus with more than one person

    I agree with everything said.

Patton Cave does have it's own Trail head though. It's about equal distance between the Horse Camp, and the Fire Tower, but horses are horses and the rear ends usually end up on top, instead of behind.

There are other options available, but I kind of feel the same as Mule. Probably shouldn't rock the boat. Everyone had a fine time last year, and probably will no matter what site we end up using.

Although the fire trails that make up the Terrel Ridge Axsom and Sycamore branch trails are not very challenging or spectacular, there are probably plenty of day hike or slack pack opportunities, as long as one doesn't mind a little bushwhacking. Jones Hollow is one for sure. If you continue past Terrel Pond, and basically follow the drainage, that hollow takes you all the way to upper salt creek. Jones does too, just a little further upstream.

Several more opportunities also exist to the west from the Fire tower. Access to both Frank and John Grubb, for those so disposed.

Thanks Termite, I'll be taking you up on the ride back.

You can can my input. Just been informed to put away these childish things. I won't be making this one, or any others, and this is my last post to this wonderful forum. Thanks for the little bit of sanity

Has an area been decided? I live in Martinsville - about 30 or so miles from the area s under discussion. I've never been to a Hoosier Hang and would like to try it. Is there a parking area everyone's going to use? Where is it? Was given permission to have a weekend to myself and boy, do I need it!

Sounds like someone was a bit unreasonable. I hope it's not so.

As it stands now, the plan is to meet Thursday and Friday at Terrell cemetery near the firetower trail head and parking area. This is in the Dean Wilderness of Hoosier national forest.

Park at the Tower parking lot on Tower Road. We have decided to keep the original plans for Friday night and then ask everyone what they want to do the rest of the weekend. Welcome to your first hoosier hang, Lost Biker.

Wow, that's too bad. Hope things work out for you, Tim, and that you can at least get back on here again sometime.

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver
