Well, My grandchildren were coming down for tonight and I don't know how that's going to go, but I will be there this afternoon, and will play it by ear after that. I do plan on hiking into JOnes Hollow tomorrow rain or shine. Then we will discuss plans. If there aren't too many at the pond, we may opt to stay there Friday nite too. Whatever you all want. The only problem with staying at the pond is a 10 hiker limit per group, but we could get around that if we want. See you later today.

I went on home tonight. For those who had not arrived yet please accept my regrets that I didn't get to see you all. Going into Jones Branch took a toll on my heel spurs and knee. by the time I got down the trail back to the car just a few hundred yards I was feeling pain in my knee and by the time I made it to the car the pain was all the way up the back of my leg from my knee and on the same foot the spurs were inflamed.
Have a good time and stay dry if you can. I will miss spending time with all of you.

I just got back from the hang. Thursday was nice and warm- lotsa skeeters after me. Started raining dark early Fri morning and continued till late night. Bright sunshine this Sat morning. I don't remember everyone's names (sorry!) but I am glad to have met you all. Learned lots of tricks and got some very good ideas on a remake of my hammock sock.

Here's a few pictures. I also have a short campfire in the rain gathering and discussion of underquilts I'll put up in a bit.

There were several kilt wearers there - they looked surprisingly comfortable, and yes, we know whats under a Scotsman's kilt!
