The stuff sack for the WBBB seems to be around 10 - 12 inches long by 5 - 6 inches wide. However, that is not the compressed volume. If I'm squeezing my hammock lengthwise, I can compress it down to 5 or 6 inches (with whoopie slings). Without, I'd say I can compress it to 7-8 inches long.
I would recommend you store the slings separate from the hammock. The thinking is your slings and straps will be wet or damp from the night air or rain and your hammock is dry under the tarp.
You can compress your hammock more without the suspension, then store the straps and such in an outside pocket to dry.
If you are new to the forun I would suggest you search under suspensions/ridgelines, and there are a multitude of posts of varying ways to connect your suspension to the hammock. Rather than write a lengthy note on this I'll defer to the old posts.
Will be happy to help if you have further questions.
Unbelievably superly duperly easy. I'm behind a firewall at work, but do a search on YouTube for "whoopie slings blackbird" and you should get a video from whoopieslings.com and another from RaulPerez1. Both are very informative.
But, if you're looking to just keep wet straps away from your hammock, you can put the hammock inside the stuff sack, keep the straps connected, but outside the holes, and then just wrap them around the outside of the stuff sack.
