Getting back into hanging in NC!

    Hello all!

I just got back from my first group hangout with some fine folks in Pisgah National at John Rock - The first of many I hope.

I started to prefer hanging rather than tents twenty-five years ago in my teenage years and was considered a little flaky for doing so. Since then, school, marriage, kids, and work have kept me out of my natural habitat. I've never known anyone else that slung a hammock until flatline showed me his rigs one day (which blew away anything I had ever come up with). Suddenly, I feel like the bee in the No Rain video by Blind Melon. People here on HF get me!

I look forward to meeting many of you.

I don't have a really cool signature line but if I did, this is where it would go.

Ranger330, I enjoyed meeting you at the 3rd annual WNC John Rock Hang last weekend. Hope to see you again at the next hang.

Enjoyed meeting you this weekend and glad you are back into hanging. One of the new things I learned: park rangers CAN arrest you!

You make it sound like one of us got arrested this weekend! LOL! (didn't happen everyone)

Getting arrested by a park ranger is what happens to you right after you tell a park ranger that park rangers can't arrest you.

Great to meet you too grannypat! Many more times and soon I hope.
I don't have a really cool signature line but if I did, this is where it would go.

By the way everyone... I'm an enforcement ranger (urban) with City of High Point Parks and Recreation Department.
