    Destination hike

Hey Guys my wife and I are looking for a hike in September. We are looking for a scenic destination hike for the weekend. Something close to western mass but can be in NH, VT or CT. My wife needs something easy to light moderate. We thought of Sage's ravine or something like that. Any suggestions.

At that time of year, the trail around Lake George in NY are relatively clear of people. They are some pretty easy and pretty looking trails. I have hiked most of them, PM me if you want some details.

Are you looking for a short there and back, one day hike or an overnight? Or a point to point and shuttle back?

The AT to the top of Killington in VT would work, and there's a number of starting points that would afford either a round trip day hike, or an overnight.

Personally I'd go from the Minerva Hinchey shelter to Cooper Lodge (13.8 miles) near the summit of Killinton to overnight or to the summit and back to Governor Clement shelter as a shuttle point.

A good day hike would be Minerva Hinchey to Clarendon Shelter and back. There's a scenic overlook before you get to the brigde at Mill River that's stunning, and the Mill River crossing is pretty good. If the blue blazes are still there, there's a trail you can take to Clarendon once you cross the highway that's fairly easy and uses part of the old Crown Point Road from the colonial period. REal nice in that part and was dissapointed when the ATC re-routed away from it.

Another good one is Mount Osceola on the Kancamagus Highway in NH. Good day hike to the summit and back if you start early, great views at the top and not near as techincal or grueling as others in the White Mountains.
