    Summer Boy Scout Camp

I was out with my scout troop at summer camp last week. I managed to find a tent that had 2 nicely spaced trees behind it and set up my home for the week. The platform tent made a nice foyer. I placed my trekking poles on some logs for even more head room under the tarp.
The nights started out warm and cooled off a little towards the end of the week. My WL 3/4 length UQ was pushed to the side for the first half of each night and I pulled it under when I got a little chilly. The Fronkey bug net worked great. One morning I woke up to the sound of a mosquito in my ear and turned my head to find him trying in vain to get at me.
My DIY silnylon tarp worked great on the last night when it rained most of the night (I love sleeping with the patter of rain on the tarp). I had not tested it at all before this.
All in all a well rested week. I did not miss the smell of canvas and a creaking uncomfortable cot.

Off to scout camp today with the Cubs. Looking forward to a few days hanging in nature. I like the foyer idea.

Sounds like a good trip. I remember the many days have spent in those tents. They seemed so much bigger when I was little!

Nice, I will be doing the same in a few weeks. Leave on the 28th, headed to Goshen Scout Reservation for a week. Going to bring my DIY stand, as I am not sure if I would want to hang on the same trees for a week. I don't want to leave any marks on the trees at the end of it. Did you notice any?

those canvas tents make great foyers. Especially when they are not even close to level.

Our boys love those canvas tents....they haven't learned the joy of hammock camping yet.

Nice. Back in June I used my hammock a few nights while at Camp Davy Crocket. Both of my sons wanted to try it then. Hoping to get the troop interested now. Like you I hate those cots! Keep it up.

So who do you get to carry your living room?
Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.
