    I told my son (13) about the group hang and where it was and he is super eager to go. I know it will be a good time. We will probably drive up from SC saturday morning and stay all day/overnight.
    Do you think site 409 will be the focal point and meeting area or will those details be announced when this gets closer.Looking forward to meeting all of you.

    Good to hear you can make it!
    No... site 413 will be the main gathering area. It's the biggest and we'll have tarp coverage from any rain that may come. I'd like to say that there'll be room for probably 10-12 hammocks to stay on that site. RF & I will be there and if anyone wants to, they can stay too. However, it's 6$ per night to stay. A small fee for such a good weekend!
    Please PM me or RF if you'd like to stay on that site.
    Looking forward to a great time with good friends!

    Cakes.....are you putting together a rafting trip?
    I think there'll be a few of us interested in partaking in that.

    Not a rafting trip but a kayak trip! Who can paddle Class I-II? I'd rather do section 9 above the campground rather than the section below because there was too much flat water down there last year. I am more familiar with the upper and know all the lines. If we take out at Stack House we'll be getting off BEFORE the class IV's!
    I can bring 2 or 3 for anyone who wants to give it a go. This is the only whitewater sit-on-top kayak made and it will bomb through anything and is the boat we put the newbies in to keep them safe & show them a good time! We call it "THE TANK".

    That's great Running Feather! I am looking for a select few who want a taste of real white water. The best thing about these Sit-On Tops is there are no restricting skirts or straps that hold you in. So if you fall off...you just crawl back on!! I will have some of my club mates with me for safety of course and everyone must wear helmets and PFD's. I can get those too.

    Just reserved 453 in order to be sure I would have a site with an outlet. It is riverside. There will be room for one or two more hangers if anyone wants to share. It will just be me and my son at this point. Wish we were closer to the nexus of 409 and 413 but that is the best I could get.
    Reeeeely looking forward to this!
    Also @ dakota--- The reservation chick at Hot Springs said 407 can hold 4 campers without any additional charge.

    @LDCakes-
    I used to paddle a Perception Axess and before that a sit on top called a Torrent. Man, it was a barge but it was unsinkable.... me on the otherhand- I floated alot. I got interested in kayaking while preparing to be on the water rescue team at the 1996 Olympics in TN at the Ocoee. During that 1 year run-up to the actual event I decided it looked like fun. Of course, those athletes kept telling us we were crazy to leap in to THAT water under those conditions to get them. Now I think they were crazy to paddle it! I quickly learned not to paddle anything I wasn't willing to swim in directly. That was a good rule and it prevented much carnage. So if you need a mediocre paddler or a certified swiftwater rescue technician/instructor to come along I could be convinced.

    I'm lovin' how this hang is coming together!
    We're still better than a month out!
    I've secured the weather, and it's gonna be sunny with a high of 72*f all weekend with a low of 55*f at night! Perfect!!
