    Ridgeline abrasion on tarp?

The thought just occurred to me, as I am preparing to do a trip in potentially windy weather, if the coatings on ridgelines hurt either the tarp itself or at least the seam sealing when the wind is blowing and potentially moving the tarp around on the ridgeline.

Anyone have thoughts or experience this?

I always have my ridgeline above my tarp so .... never touches it.

Yeah, I am thinking about switching to running my ridgeline over the tarp too.

I know the ridgeline under the tarp gives it a little more stability in snow, but for the rest of the year, I think I might change my setup. I'm just worried about damaging my tarp.

I'm a tie the ends of the tarp to the trees guy and prior to that I used an above the tarp set up. I never liked the idea of the ridgeline against the tarp. I'm sure its not a big problem and many do it. Its a frequent discussion and it really depends on the user and the conditions.

+1. Though I am tempted to try the Dutch Stingerz and see if I like that as much as I like my CRL.
