Very nice, and the food made me hungry. Great pics and wish I could have been then.

Thanks everyone! It was a little hot, but perfect for a hammock, as I did not need any kinda of insulation, and the air passing below cooled my back. It was very refreshing. I Brought out my Black Bird for this trip.

I'll keep you guys posted, this place doesn't have a lot of places to hang, so it's limited to either 4 or 5 hangers max- or you bring giant tree straps. lol
However it would be cool to attend a hang, I've never been to one.
Hmm I don't think so. I just know it as Lytle creek. There's a really cool waterfall over there, but I'm too lazy to go further during summer. Heat and I don't go together very well.
I'll be sure to keep people posted once I find a good spot for a lot of hangers. If it's limited to only 4 or 5 people, this place would be perfect. Or hiking up further would serve well. More trees.
What kind of trap is that? very interesting!

Great trip report. My favorite part is that a bunch of skinny people went on a day hike and carried enough food to feed a third world nation for a week.
Can't wait to see your food selection for a five-day hike!
Figure 4. I didn't actually use it, just practicing.
haha it just kind of happened. We would never bring that much food or utensils
for an overnight trip. This particular trip was primarily a food based outing. To try out cooking related gear, and just cooking over/in an open fire.
Stay tuned, These trips will happen at least 3 times a month. Every trip will hopefully be different- I plan to start using themes based on another friend's idea. This trip was a first for food. Next we will start using the themes, such as swiss army only fire, machete only, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7''+ blade only fire/tool, natural tinder only fire, handmade utensils only, Might even have a cleaver for camp only trip, and so on.
York Peppermint Patty......my favorite!!!!! I lingered over that food.
Right good stuff there.
