    Locked threads and deleted posts

I've seen threads locked and posts deleted here. I just wanted to voice my opinion that while I'm fairly opinionated, and don’t like the idea of my posts being erased, I'm VERY OK with our mod's actions.

One of the main reasons this site is helpful and fun, is that we for the most part stay focused on helping each other and sharing a common interest. When we (collectively) stray from this path, I have no problem getting a nudge in the right direction.

For those that may bridle over these types of restrictions I can only say this: Post controversial text on another site, and come back here to share civility and good manners. There are MANY sites that allow and welcome controversy. No reason you (& I) can't vent there, and rest here.

Thanks to all our mods for making this site the most user friendly one I visit.

    Best regards,

    6 (Mark)

Thanks for the kind words. As slowhike said, it's not an easy job sometimes but it's a labor of love.

Yep - appreciate the kind words. It's difficult sometimes - especially moderating political posts when we agree with the views - but we have a pretty easy-going crowd here. This site is usually much easier to moderate than most others...I think it's because our membership is much better than most other sites. Hammockers are more relaxed!

Helps keep it easy-going when we stay on topic and away from controversial issues, too. Vent there, rest here. Good idea.

Hmm, I guess I haven't seen anything yet that's needed to be locked or deleted. Like Jeff said I figured HF would be more relaxed. Glad to see I've missed it. I see to much garbage at other sites. I've been pleased with the lack of it here. Seems like a big family more than anything. Even as a newbie I've been overwhelmed with the open arms and instant support.
