anyone use a "structural" ridge line?

I have a DD Frontline and finally found a very comfortable "hang" with it last time out. link to post about sag

Does anyone use a structural ridge line with a DD with the bug net?
I'm wondering if a structural ridge line could also support the netting (with some elastic cord attaching it).
Didn't take anything to try making one last night (and it took some adjustment to find the "sweet spot" for the amount of sag), but from the pic in my other link it looks to me like a ridge line from cinch buckle to cinch buckle in my web suspension might be the answer.

I thought about doing the same thing with my DD. A while back I replaced the original suspension with whoopie slings and attached them to the DD using an amsteel loop and descender ring. When I looked at the level between the descender rings it was going to be too low to use for a ridgeline/bugnet suspension. I have since bought 2 x long amsteel loops from AHE but I haven't gotten around to trying them out. It would of course lengthen your minimum hang length a bit but it may be worth it if it simplifies the rig.

Had the hammock hung today (attached a peak bag & ridge line organizer inside the bug new w/1/16" shock cord).
Tried a structural ridge line from cinch buckle to cinch buckle on my suspension and it didn't work out to suit me.
Looks like I'll just "eyeball" the sag when I hang for now.

BTW - I guessed at the sag today (hanging at home) and hit it perfectly first try! Felt so comfortable I forgot all about the work my wife wanted done today.
