I was looking at some of your hammock pics in your gallery. I invite anyone who hasnt visited Warbonnetguy's gallery to do so. The black bird is a radical design, and I can see why some other companies might feel intimidated by your presence... find a solid marketing angle and you'll have Tom sleeping in a Warbonnet before too long.
The "Blackbird" is an amazing design, nay, it is a work of art

What are the key advantages a Blackbird has over a Hennessy hammock?
Can you get pretty flat in this thing?

I have a bonus owed to me soon. Once I get it, I'm gonna order one. I like the wings on the blackbird.

well, let's start with the lay. the lay of an end gathered hammock has alot to do with the edge of the bed fabric being restricted. on a haab style, there is no net and no pull tabs, and no restriction. if you lay in an extreme diagonal position, the two edges of the hammock fabric naturally assume an asym shape (this is what my whole problem with the hh's patent was about). the edges of the hammock fabric naturally assume an asym shape when one lays the way they are supposed to. the blackbird and the eldorado followed this natural asym shape. hh's asym shape is different. the pull tabs imo are in the wrong spot. they are the point where the hammock is pulled farthest from the user, which should be at your shoulder/head area, and the feet, or where your body protrudes the most from the suspension axis. on a hh, these points are more like elbow and knee. having them there makes the hammock wider in center, but restricts the foot area, specifically resulting in higher position for your head and feet (most noticeably the feet due to their close proximity to the very edge) along with less room in those areas, the extreme of this would be the old symmetric diamond shape.
specifically you should notice much more room in the head and feet areas, and the lay should be as flat as a haab style hammock (if made of the same weight fabric of course), which are flatter than an hh imo.
