What limits hammock weight limits?

If it is like any other engineering project there is a blend or balance along with some price manipulation. If you look at Warbonnet as an example he manipulates fabric weight and layers. I do not recall his suspension options. Hennessy manipulates size, cordage, and construction techniques. He probably does that as it is easier when buying large quantities of cloth. Each maker has his tradeoffs depending on material availability.


FWIW I would think the data you are asking H for is something he would not want to share for a variety or reasons.

And yet, HH rates their Survivor to 350 and uses the same bottom hammock material or that and the UL backpacker.

That would explain the non-responsiveness from the HH email address... And yet not an unreasonable questions but yeah I get it... I've swung in the smaller hammock plenty nights as is, and changing out the cordage can't hurt. Thanks to everyone here for being helpful.
