You may have a retail store near you:

Just cut the webbing and discard the hooks, heat seal the cut ends with matches/lighter, sew new loops in one or both ends and you're good to go.

Awesome! We do have one in town! You linked to a 15' piece... is that how long a piece I should get for each end?

If you are using the ring buckle system, 10' per end would be plenty. I have 15' on each end but I will be trimming them down in the near future.

15' would be fine. The length depends entirely on the maximum distance between the trees that you might want to tie to. Longer gives you more hanging options for distance or tieing to larger trees, but is heavier. Most people use between 10' and 12'.

I measured 12 on mine. I do not want to go shorter. I hung from trees over 18' apart with only stretching issues. The longer straps also give you the ability to wrap around the treees multiple times spreading out the force on soft bark trees.

I have about 15' on mine, but i think I'm going to shorten them a bit. I haven't decided how much yet. I'll get a few more setups on them to see how short I can realistically go.
    Peace,

HE - Ed's webbing is polypro, not nylon. I forget how long mine are on each end...maybe 10'? Longer than I've ever needed. I think on the east coast I could probably go to 7' and be ok.

The total length of ratchet and hooks is 15'. One piece is about 2' to 3' and another piece about 12'. The short piece you don't really need. Just use the 12' piece. That is as long or longer than you really need. Maybe start with the full piece and cut when you have more experience.

Ok, it's almost together. I FINALLY ordered the last component of my ring buckle support system this morning, some 2.8mm Spyderline from Annapolis Performance Sailing. All I have to do now is wait for it to get to me and put it all together. I've read good stuff about the customer service at APS, which is part of the reason I ordered from them. Can anyone else who has done business with them remember how long it took to get their order? I went with UPS ground, so I'm guessing by the end of the week, at the latest. Anyway, photos of the final product as soon as I can. Of course, it will be with me at Hot Springs.

They will give you a UPS tracking number - that way you can track it daily on the UPS web site and build your anticipation. In my experience, the UPS delivery estimates have been right on.

The APS customer service I have experienced is top notch.
