Just got thru trying out the buckles Angrysparrow sent me. Thanks so much.
And thanks for the Spyderline. I put them on my first homemade hammock I made last week. They worked out really well. Easy to adjust after laying in it awhile. I'd have to agree with Jeff that they are about equal to the rings. The buckles may weigh a tiny bit more but you dont have to tie a safety knot. You cant go wrong with either.
Here's a pic of the knot I used. It's a ascender knot wrapped 5 times. Tied off with a bowline. Works well. Thanks again Angrysparrow.

OK, my first post here. I made it through the "Bridge Hammock" thread and this one. Where do I get my forum reading endurance medal?
Great info here. I am new to hanging. Have talked the wife into giving it a try! This thread caught my eye because anything that will make set- up easier will "sell" the missus on the deal. I look forward to being able to "pitch" and "unpitch" camp quicker using some of the methods that have been pioneered here. Thanks all who have contributed....I had to post so that I don't miss any new developments!

HI
Are these buckles hard to undo with some tension on them? I have been using some rings I found over here and once I pull on the end of the webbing to tighten the ridgeline and then hang for a while I find the rings hard to undo.
Thanks

Lawrench, that is quite an accomplishment!
Just curious, how many days did it take you. I've got a night job on the weekends that's really BORING, so I catch-up on threads while I'm there. I think it still took me about 16 hours to get through them and that's skipping half of Grizzly Adams and TeeDee's math lectures.
I'm hurt, the 1/2 you skip is more boring than work? Ouch!
you will have learned by now to approach those posts backwards, kind of like reading Hebrew. More often than not, our first runs at a problem end up wrong. Takes a couple of volleys to sort it out.
More likely folks approach them with eyes closed tight, and fingers pressed hard on the scroll key.
Grizz
Don't be hurt Grizz; they aren't more boring than work, but they make my head hurt! I choose a degree path of Biology (back in the day) because it only had 2 math requirements College Algebra and Calculus for Biological Sciences.
But, I sure am thankful for you math wizards working out some of the problems so that the rest of us can enjoy the final results. Plus, it is sort of entertaining when you guys start arguing about stuff and the rest of us have no idea whose side we should be on, cause we don't have a clue what the heck yall are talking about.
