Polyester or Polypro webbing. They don't stretch like nylon does. Good luck with your set-up. Webbing and rings is a very easy system to use. Just remember the half hitch back-up knot, or you may end up on your butt.

Polypropylene or polyester as cataraftgirl mentioned. This is the webbing they use to lash down loads on trucks. A lot of hardware stores carry it for tie downs, sometimes with buckles or cinching mechanism. Like THIS. Cut off the metal parts and sew a loop in the ends. Or you can order materials or pre-made from some of our cottage manufactures like ArrowHead Equipment, JacksRBetter, TreeToTree Trail Gear, etc. Also Strapworks.com may be an option.
Good Luck,

I sat down 5 hours ago and have worked my way from 1st post to last. I feel like I just finished Atlas Shrugged or maybe Atlas Slipped (Because He Forgot The Slippery Half-Hitch). Whenever I read any epic work I find that my opinions change as I read. I started out almost certain that I wanted to go the web and rings route. Somewhere around page 43 I noticed that a lot of people who were singing most enthusiastically had whoopie slings listed as their suspension in their bios.
More research awaits!

I fell on my backside twice, but I'm pretty sure it's all my own fault. I wanted 1 inch rings to match my webbing, but ended up with 2 inch rings instead. And the bigger size of the rings, together with a second person trying to get in with me TWICE (it's a double nest hammock) made me fall on my rear end and lower back on two separate occasions. Anyway, tying an extra knot after feeding them through the rings and keeping away any other hammock dwellers whilst I'm still in there seems to do the trick for now. But since I dont trust these rings anymore, I'll need to find better ones, but as it turns out, they're really really hard to find here in Europe. If anybody can help me out regarding the rings that would be cool.
Otherwise I'm going to have to switch to a whoopie sling system all together (already have a whoopie ridge line). I'll have to use Liros Dyneema D-pro string though, since I can't find that amsteel stuff everybody is talking about here either (I think it's also dyneema string though, just a bit stronger, 3mm liros dyneema is 900kg breaking strength, the amsteel is 1100 kg if I'm correct). I'd much rather give the ring system a second go though, since I already have everything for that setup, except the right rings... And the right rings may turn out quite somewhat cheaper than the string.

I use rings and webbing, but I put slippery halfhitch after.

Knoob here with a coupla questions...
I have a eno dn and was wondering if one could use a biner for holding the rings to the hammock instead of a rope/chainlink/loop of webbing or would the biner not let the rings work right? Also what about 6 mm static rope instead of webbing? Reason I ask is I have the biners, descending rings and rope already and don't want to keep buying...to try this out

It would work but it would be heavy and kinda pointless. I would run a line thru the channels and use a pursik knot to hold the ring. The webbing and rings work just like the cloth belts and it may pinch ropes to the point of failure where webbing wont. check out

looks great!! i use a similar system, but i used rings from Lowes. they are rated for 300 lbs and i have had no issues up to this point.
Hops
I used the same rings when I started out but they warped out on me after awhile. I’m still using them on one of my hammocks just to see how far they will go before I’m on the ground.
I now have the 1200lbs rated rings on my HH. They are twice the size but half the weight and can hold a lot more.
