So there you go, different strokes for different folks, and all. I had a friend in college studying biology. She had pasted up on her wardrobe these complicated diagrams of biological systems. I would not be able to remember all that. Derive from first principles, that's me. My own path of least resistance is to keep down the memory requirements.

OK, I finally broke down and ordered some buckles this morning. Kind of excited to see how they work, but I seem to be emotionally attached to my rings. I felt like I was "cheating" when I ordered the buckles.

Yea I feel like I'm cheating also. But I just had a talk with my rings and she said two timing would be o.k with her.
Seriously, I will have the buckles on 2 of my hammocks and rings on the other 2.

I felt the same. I missed the "feng shui" of the rings. But both solutions work great.

Just curious, how many days did it take you. I've got a night job on the weekends that's really BORING, so I catch-up on threads while I'm there. I think it still took me about 16 hours to get through them and that's skipping half of Grizzly Adams and TeeDee's math lectures.
I am afraid that I cannot answer that question based on the fact that my wife might read this!

Actually, I didn't keep track. I read the forum using my cell phone, so that slowed me down...I would guess 2-3 hrs per day for 3 days... ugh. I need to get a life!

I enjoyed the mathematics. Most of it is way over my head, but I like to try and figure it out.

For a while I actually tried to follow it, but gave-up. I will admit to going back and peeking every now and again just to see if there has been some kind of cosmic alingment in my skull; so far no luck.

Don't worry FF & NCPatrick, I think my rings will be OK with it; they're pretty forgiving. I only ordered one set, so I won't be replacing, just enhancing my options.

Geez, how did I get this much stuff?!

Why are you not hanging out in the yard? I do that at least once a week, because I just sleep better in a tree.

    No yard? No trees? Hmmm.

No, I actually have the world's best wife. She lets me do whatever I want, because I do the same for her. 17 years and still going strong.

On that "whatever I want" note, I'm leaving for VA today to hike and hang awhile.

Anything I can't do with Algebra and Calculus is beyond me anyway. MAT 215 Calculus at that. Not that blackboard-full-of-numbers stuff.

Heck, I still use an HP 48 graphing calculator. Old School, baby.

Ok, so now Im sold on trying out the buckles. What exactly do I say to Ed or the other manufacturer when asking them to sew the loop? Do I need a specific size and code word? Size as in the loop.
