Now you can really take it up a notch and read this one. There will be a test at the end.

I can so relate. This was one of the first I read when I joined, it was really helpful to me as I determined my suspension system. This group is an incredible resource. You are now a hammock scholar of sorts.

    Cinch Buckles

I hate to see such a huge thread without adding something...

I've looked at rings and D rings. Both of them slipped without a knot behind them. I also had a rude awakening one evening when a hardware store ring decided to deposit my on the ground at 1:30 in the morning.

Asa result, I have been on a quest for cinch buckles that will work with 1" webbing while holding me up without releasing.

That's what I came up with. I've ordered a few already, but I was wondering if anyone has tried these. If they don't work for my hammock, I suppose they'll work fine for my canoe or kayak.

If anyone has any experience with these, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

I wouldn't use those for hanging myself. They are generally for tie downs, and can be pretty harsh on the webbing.

Here is what most are using. They work great:

I have used those for a couple of years now, so far no problems.

Those Strapworks cams are 800 lb "test", but I wonder what the weight is?

so after those 81 pages i'm guessing about 12' of 1" polyester webbing, into 2 1.5" smc descender rings, into some undetermined length of undetermined line of undetermined length of undertermined test using some combobulation of knots

    did i summerize that well?
