Straps for hanging...

Hey y'all, first time poster here. Recently bought an ENO Doublenest and want to get some gear together for the first trip out in a few weeks. I've read that a lot of y'all like that setup with the double rings and prussik knot / straps for hanging. I found these straps: Here and was wondering if y'all thought they'd be adequate or not. If they are, would I be able to tie a double figure 8 in one end for looping it all around a tree or if I need to get someone to sew a good loop in the end. Thanks in advance!

Matt, welcome aboard. Glad to have you with us. I own an ENO DouleNEst as well and love it. Although, I am thinking of switching to a Speer or DIY Speer-type. The strap you picked it a good choice, probably one of the most popular here. If you get this strap, it already has loops sewn in each end and you can customize the size of the loop and the length of the strap. When you get it, simply cut it in half and you have 2 straps. Personally, I'd go for the 2" sewn loop (an extra $0.07) and a length of 20-24 feet. Best of luck on the hammocking learning curve, it's a great ride. Have fun!

I have both sewn loops and knotted. My 13ft straps are knotted because I bought them on my way to a trip and didn't have a sewing maching on the trail. Both work just fine.

I use the polypro strapworks straps and am very pleased with them. They are much cheaper in price than the polyester. I can sew so I sew my own loops. But knotted loops with a climbing knot wshould be fine.

not being a gram weenie and not having a decent scale to weigh light items I have no clue.

I believe polyrop is slightly lighter than polyester but usually has a lesser weight rating.

The polypro is indeed rated for less than the polyester. However, I have not had any concerns with the strapworks polypro.
