I was not at Hidden Valley, our troop does summer camp at Mt Norris VT. We just spent the weekend up at Waterville Valley and climbed Mt Oceola and Oceola east for http://www.flagsonthe48.org/
Another HF member, Tobit, pointed out the flags-on-the-48 activity. He lives in Manchester.

The "48" reminds of peak-bagging. A buddy of mine has bagged all 48 at 4,000 and above, and has set to work on the 3,000 and above group. I didn't ever get into the peak-bagging thing, but have done chunks of the AT between Hanover and the Whites, and segments through the Whites.

You guys eying hammocking off-trail in the wild country?

Too bad I already have a Hennessy but if you get to 15 posts I'll ask my hiking buddy if we wants one.

Halfway up Mt Oceola my son says we should go on climbs like this more often. by the time we reached the east summit he told me he never wants to do more than 4 miles round trip. it would not be so bad if the hills in the whites were not bolder strewn the sections that are not just a collection of bolders are not bad. My legs are a little sore today. I guess peak bagging is like hiking the AT it isn't for everyone

Nobdy who sleeps in a Hennessey is fine and upstanding... (PLEASE check my hammock of choice notation before getting bent out of shape.) How many more posts do you need?
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
