Oh boy are we going to be the young ones... err.. make that I'll be the younger, she'll be the youth... Yipes?

LOL. If I had a vehicle I'd go. My car went poop on me. Just curious Myk, you up near Abrams often? I might have the wife drop me off this weekend to celebrate (if I get the job tomorrow) by hiking to site 2 and staying a couple of nights. I dont have a way to travel by water "yet". I'm working on that. It will have to be after I land a job. Being laid off is the poop. That is the only reason I didnt throw my hat in the ring for this trip.

Alas, I have 3 kayaks but they are NOT happy on the roof of the Jeep at the same time. (14, 14'6, and 17'6). Good luck on the job! Who knows, you might find a way to skip down with us. I do plan to paddle Abrahms from the bridge at 129 soon and I really want to hike up Panther Creek to the old railbed/mine area. Might be sooner than later if I can manage it.

'99 TJ. Funny thing, when I first visited this area (back in the Miata days) I found a sweet campsite on Lake Santeetlah. I remember sitting back at the edge of the water saying "If I ever move to a place like this I have to get some kayaks, a Wrangler, and a good dualsport to explore with." Cut forward a few years and I was at the same spot..and realized I had brought the kayaks on the roof of the Wrangler with a dualsport on the trailer... It was rather odd to just sit back and realize I had accomplished a few of my dreams without even realizing it!

If I can do it, no reason anyone else can't. Go chase the dreams!

As of now I have tomorrow off, will load up tonight, leave at O'dark 30, probably grab breakfast on the way out and meet the crew fairly early. Are we meeting at the boat ramp or??

Rebecca is going to give this a shot. I won't know until I figure out how she is enjoying it if we are going to stay both nights or just Fri. At the very least it will be a chance to break her into camping properly.

Yes we will be meeting near the boat ramp. It is a small narrow place so it wont be hard to find each other. We will be there by 12:00-ish ans look for a dark blue Subaru with two 16ft kayaks & a 16ft canoe on it. You'll spot that spectacle for sure!

Thanks. I know that area well and have been to it a few dozen times. Have some great pics ranging from dragons breath backgrounds to bikes/cars up to the helicopter doing bucket-runs for the forest fire two years ago. Awesome little spot.
