    My First bannana!

I woke around 0630hrs this morning so that I could get my 5 year old daughter to school. The first think she said to me was "Dad when are you going to buy me a hammock like yours." Next thing my wife knew the kid was at school and hubby was searching for fabric at the local walmart.

After about 1.5 hours hard manual labor I was napping in a brand new bannana.... well hammock that was about 2 feet to short for me. I realize the color could damage your eyes if look directly at it, but yellow is her favorite color. I also found a use for those crappy stock Claytor straps.

Then she came home and you would have thought I gave her a pony made out of candy. She gave me the biggest hug ever and hasn't stopped smiling sense she found it in the back yard.

Very cool, I know your daughter loves it ! I made my 16yo niece a hammock & tarp for her 16th bday. I made her a silver Claytor clone and a purple cat cut tarp. I couldn't stand the purple sil until I hung it. It actually looked real good with the silver hammock, who would of guessed ?

Cool. My 3-y-o loves getting in the hammock with me but I think I'd better wait for him to get a little older before I make him his own.

I don't think 3 is to young as long as you are there while they are in the hammock.

Whatever skills you lack in DIY you more than make up for in parenting skills...nothing is more important than sharing with a child. Five Stars!!!! Two Thumbs Up!!!!

Awesome stuff - hammocking is a great thing to share with kids. What kid doesn't like swinging?!

Hammocks are taking over our house!

I have 27 mo old that loves the hammock I slung over the bottom bunk of his sisters bed...lol. I used an old sheet and hung it up tight between the diagonals of the top bunk (picture: top bunk then hammock over the bottom bunk...I have a pic somewhere..LOL)

Anyway, he (and my 10yr old and 7yr old) loves climbing into it. He also loves falling out of it onto his bed (the bottom bunk).

We have a really small house so all of the rooms are pretty small. My 10yr old just acquired more floor space since we took out his bed and replaced it with a hammock. He would not have it any other way. He says he sleeps better (although he has NEVER had a hard time sleeping, waking up YES). he just unclips it and puts it into a pouch on the wall when he wants it out of the way.

Now if I can just convince the wife to get rid or OUR bed...LOL.
