What knot to use for shock cord

So my ULBP hammock didn't come with the shock cord tie outs. Was wondering what would be a good knot to attach the shock cord to the ring. The taut line hitch didn't work so well...

Two half hitches should work pretty well since you're going to cinch it down against the ring anyway. I think that's the knot hennessy uses anyway.

    I'd guess 5 ft. Just a guess.

JEESH, no I don't! I don't know what I was thinking. I attached the guy lines with a bowline, but I have sections of shockcord attached with clove hitches, like this: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=3731. And this is on my tarp. Never mind.

Bowline, Canadian Jam Knot, even tautline hitch will work (though that's for a different application than the first two), but different diameters of shock cord behave differently, so experiment.

Awesome thanks guys, I ended up using the double clove hitch. Worked great once I tightened it down. I made them 4ft long so hopefully that will be sufficient, guess I'll find out soon enough gonna test hang at the beach
