I used a carabiner to attach the tabs to my ridgeline. It stays up off of me and it was a quick and easy fix.

I had to put an extension on the head end because it was pulling on the stitching pretty hard. It was right where my shoulder is. I'm thinking I can find some small clips of some kind and clip the net up higher if need be.

I plan on doing something similar to this. I have another method in my head, but I cannot try it until my tarp arrives.
I prefer the internal ridgeline, it keeps the net out of your face with no stress on the net, and you can hang stuff from it. I made mine detachable so I could still flip it over and go netless. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=5045
I may try that, but I'm deeply considering selling my hammock to someone and get a smaller one. Nothing wrong with Grand Trunk other than the enormously large bug net, but it just a huge hammock when I could use something smaller. Wish I had came to this forum before I made the plunge.
I dont understand the carabiner... Why use hardware when you can just run the rl through those tabs?
People talk about stressing the net with a solid line... But the net is HUGE so unless your rl is a foot or two you likely wont have enough sag to cause damage.
Or just use the shock cord that came with it to make a rl through the tabs. That is what I did... With a taught line hitch so you can still slack the rl to flip and the hammock and use with out bugnet.
When I laid in the hammock it put a lot of stress on one side of the bugnet with the rl ran through the tabs. I am new to this so it's trial and error for me. I am thinking of running the rl on the inside I just haven't convinced myself to poke a hole in the net yet. I am thinking when I do I will use something like gorrilla tape on the inside and outside to keep the net in tact. Sticky to sticky Im thinking.

When I put the holes in my net for the ridgeline I applied "liquid stitch" around the hole which has worked well for a couple seasons so far. In the thread I linked before I believe Grizz sewed a piece of grosgrain on the inside and outside of the net then put the ridgeline through that.
