The fronkey design or knotty design require minimal sewing and could be done with hand stitching of you had an afternoon and were patient

Or you could go redneck and duct tape the seams...I saw a thread a couple months ago about that...

I found a bed net (similar to the smaller one here: http://www.mosquitohammock.com/bednet.html ) at a local camping store. I poked a small hole on opposite top corners to run the hammock suspension through, and used the other corners as tie-outs to give more room for a diagonal lay. The material wasn't long enough to reach the ground, so I used zip ties to consolidate most of the extra material, leaving just an opening in the middle. I then overlapped the sides of the opening and used small weights (3/8" nuts, actually) to keep it closed.

Here it is in action last summer:

Just looked up the difinition of redneck and have to say that I must disagree with most official difinitions.

    The 'Olddog difinition'

    Red-nek; noun
    1. Those able to more with less.
    2. Those able to look at the impossible and complete the improbable
    3. The foundation of this amazing country

If you look deep enough you will find that there is a little redneck in all of us. More in me than in some others. As for the window shears, great idea! Whatever it takes to get out and enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors.

Oh, by the way, back in the 70's in the Navy 4 of us rented a house and hemmed the curtains with a staple gun.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

I used the "HUG" pattern for a while. It worked very well until I sewed on a permanent one. I dont see any reason why you would have to put a rolled hem on it.

The old tarp trick with small stones and string could anchor it to your suspension and for the ridge line use a piece of duck tape on the inside and out.

Once you get into your bag in the hammock, just tuck the netting in. This worked in the ADK's during mosquito season without any problems.
