why do / Hennessy Hammock

Quick question,

Why do people sew up the middle Velcro entrance on the Hennessey hammocks. I ask this for I saw it on You tube.

Please understand a noob is asking, although I did purchase a hammock on this forum and used it this weekend and love it.

If you have modified your Hennessy with a side zipper or perhaps removed the bug net completely, the bottom entry is of little use.

I had a zipper mod installed and just left mine open for a little piece of mind. I figure a zipper could possibly jam and I don't want to be stuck inside with no way out but to cut the screen. I don't know what the two strips of velcro weigh but I doubt the savings would be huge if it were removed and sewn shut. Just not worth the hassle for me.

Unless you are trying to keep the pesky little bitters from entering the hammock with you. ZQ
